Big thank you to all the supporters who turned out to cheer our girls! Every Rangers game had a very full spectator bench. Well done to all our teams who played hard with good sportsmanship – just as Rangers girls do!
Rangers 14 – John Dobrenov’s girls were the first to kick off the day at 9am. Both teams got off to a shaky start with the Grand Final next weekend in sight. In what started out as a tight game against Centenary – scores at 9 all at half time. Our Rangers girls showed true determination to run away with it in the end, winning 21-11.
Rangers 13 – Kim Gardner’s team were next and came up against a very determined Sapphires team. This team has saved their best netball for the last games and should be very proud with their season having made the Prelim Finals. Every girl on the court gave their absolute best effort but unfortunately the other team was better on the day.
Rangers 9 – Linda Jenkins & Susan Bamford’s team were playing Lakers, a team they had never beaten. After an anxious start with their GS falling ill, a reserve was found in Gabby Mansfield (thanks for stepping up when asked Gabby). At three quarter time they were two in front and played hard for the whole quarter to knock Lakers confidence and came away with a convincing win 35-27.
Rangers 6 -Danelle Spasojevic’s team were up against St Joesphs in what was a very fast paced game of netball. They got off to a slow start and were down by 10 goals at half time. With true Rangers spirit they dug deep and put in a huge effort to only fall short by 1 goal at the final hooter – another couple of minutes and we’d have had them. What a brilliant game girls, you can be proud that you gave it everything right to the last minute.
Rangers 7 – Sam Leaso & Sarah Blythe’s girls have had a brilliant season and were only just pipped last week to finish 2nd on the ladder. In a very tight game against Kenmore Baptist which had the spectators chewing their nails, our girls showed composure in the closing minutes to come away with a win by 1 goal.
Umpires – Susan, Caroline, Emily T, Nicola, Emily S; once again these ladies were doing us proud having been asked by WDNA to officiate in the finals .
