Our A Reserve girls (coached by Roxanne Dyer & Family) played a great game today in their semi final to defeat Kenmore Districts 36-27. We started strongly, maintained the pressure in the premiership quarter and pulled away in the 4th. It was a very physical game with our team showing their maturity to maintain their composure and finish off the game. A big thank you must go to all the supporters who cheered the girls on!
Team 16 (coached by John Dobrenov) needed a win today to secure their place in the Semi Final next week. They were behind in the early stages of the game but pulled away to take a comfortable win. Well done girls! Also great effort by the families who urged the players on from start to finish. See you all again next week!
Rangers Umpires were also in action today with Sharon Serow, Allanah Gardner and Emily Turner umpiring semi final games for Western Districts. Thanks for flying the flag for our club.
Congratulations to our Allanah Gardner who has been umpiring for our club every week and on Saturday was rewarded for her hard work.
Western Districts awarded her a “Silver Association Award” for umpiring. Great effort!
Sometimes at netball it is the lows that define our great club. Today our Team 3 (Div 2 coached by John Fearon) had a tough game to make the finals. After the game, it was obvious there was disappointment in coming up short by one goal, however there was also exhaustion on every players face showing they had given absolutely everything. The girls (and coach) came under some fairly questionable physical/verbal play, but they stood strong, played hard but fair and did their best. With this came a sense of pride that they had left it all out there on the court and played the game in the spirit it was intended. The club takes great pride in having members like these girls – so great effort Rangers 3!
Our Rangers 2 (A Reserve coached by Roxanne Dyer) experienced the highs to convincingly win over St Josephs 2 to ensure a spot in the semi finals. Fabulous effort girls!
Rangers 7 (Int 3 coached by the Sharons) also needed a win to secure their spot in the final and had a confident win to ensure they will be here next week.
Rangers 15 (11yrs Div 2 coached by Mick Mansfield) in a nail biter nearly knocked off the undefeated top team to sneak into the finals. The team showed some brilliance on the day but came up just short. The future looks bright with players that show this much enthusiasm – well done girls!
Rangers 16 (11yrs div 4 coached by John Dobrenov) put in a great effort to book their place in the finals by defeating the top team on the ladder. See you next week girls!
Ranger 10 (13Yrs Div 4 coached by Sam Leaso & Jess Simpson) had another celebration in mind when they baked a cake for coach Sam on her Birthday – Happy Birthday Sam! Great Rangers colours!
Good luck to those teams that have their last game tomorrow. We have several teams that will need a win to make the finals so why not give them your support tomorrow.
