How lucky were these Rangers ladies who have just completed the 3 day Fitter Futures Netball camp?!
They’ve spent the last three afternoons working on both their Strength and Conditioning, as well as netball ball skills and agility with Tracey Bruce.
We’re hearing rave reviews from our Rangers players, they’ve all had a blast and pushed themselves to work hard (especially on the bars!).
The camp was capped off today with a training session with three of their fav Firebirds; Tara Hinchliffe, Tippah Dwan and Rudi Ellis!
This is what dreams are made of!
Nice work on keeping up your netball fitness and giving it your all in the school hols ladies 💪🏻💚💛 ... See MoreSee LessWhat a great 3 days we had! 🙌🏻 Thanks girls for turning up every day with a great attitude... despite a few sore muscles and sore hands! Be proud of your efforts!💪🏼 And yes - weren’t Tara, Rudi and Tippah from the Queensland Firebirds just awesome?! 😆🙌🏻🥰 They had some really great advice for the girls about: - training and recovery - the importance of strength training (and the advantages of starting young) - encouraging girls to play lots of different sports (and specialising later) - the importance of exercise to manage stress, emotions, and how movement always makes you feel better - how nutrition and eating properly is so important to their training. Thanks everybody for a fantastic 3 days and to Tracey Bruce for teaching the girls some great skills they can apply on the court when games start back!

SUCCESSFUL FUNDING GRANT
Might be the off season but our Committee are still hard at work. Rangers were recently successful in obtaining a Gambling Community Benefit Fund grant from the Queensland Government of $3,902.25.
Our Coaching Convenor, Keiran Gilmore, recently caught up with Mark Bailey MP, State Member for Miller to discuss our club and how we will be utilising the funds. Keep a look out for a new smaller tent and new equipment which will help us kick start our 2019 Season.

Share the dignity
All
Wests have asked us to pass this along just his afternoon. You may have seen it on the Facebook page. Please look to support this very worthy charity if you can. We do understand that they are running the collection point tomorrow so time may play a role for some.
If we can suggest – the club now has a new sponsor which is Priceline at Oxley, so this may be a great way to support our new incoming club sponsor and at the same time support the cause. Just make sure you tell them you are from Rangers.
Some information will be coming out regarding club sponsors as a separate communication. They have all chipped in to help provide something for the girls which has now arrived and will hopefully be distributed this coming week at training Wednesday night.
Good Afternoon,
DIGNITY DRIVE
“Share the Dignity is a charity that is working to raise the awareness of the effect on women of homelessness, Domestic Violence, and dire financial circumstances. There are over 85,000 women that need our help!
Donate to a women’s charity that makes a real, on-the-ground difference to homeless women and victims of domestic violence. Share The Dignity collects thousands of pads, tampons and personal hygiene products every YEAR for women experiencing homelessness and poverty. Small dignities make a big difference. They fund funerals for victims of domestic violence and campaign for justice for women in Australia.
The current drive is collecting sanitary items for women in need. This is something we all take for granted but some women are reduced to using toilet paper, newspaper, socks etc as they simply cannot afford this. There are even in Australia girls who do not attend school as some families have to make the choice about feeding their families or sanitary items.”
If you can contribute by bringing along any new sanitary items (tampons, pads) for this worthy cause, Wests will be collecting the items this weekend for collection by this worthy charity.
