Congratulations to our own Sophie Barton, who was awarded her Umpiring “Gold Association Award” yesterday after completing her practical test.
Sophie has been working hard on her umpiring over the off season by attending the WDNA Umpiring Development Program and receiving extra mentoring at carnivals.
Great to see hard work being rewarded by being awarded the highest Association Award. Well done Soph!
Remember to thank all our umpires after the games – “It takes a lot of time and hard work to become a confident umpire and just a few inappropriate comments from the sideline to crush that enthusiasm”
Brisbane City Council has provided $11,000.00 to Rangers Netball Club towards our Club’s management review and constitution development project.
Our Committee has just completed their second session with Vicky Roofayel from Roofayels Sport & Community Solutions, in improving the health of our club management, financials, risk and organisation development, training and development. This will ensure not only the health of our club today but will support future volunteers in the years ahead.
The winter gear has arrived. Those who ordered track pants/hoodies/jackets can collect their paid orders at this weeks training.
Old Uniforms – We are donating our old (skirts and tops) uniform to an underprivileged school in PNG. If you would also like to donate your old uniforms please bring them down to training this Wednesday.
Date Claimer – 4 June Team Photos
While the rest of us were having a relaxing Sunday, 11 WDNA Rep teams were playing hard at the Pine Rivers Rep Carnival. If they were Rangers girls they were also having fun!
Our girls out there were:
Development Squad: Gabby Mansfield, Amy Pruyn, Rose Ringelstein, Phoebe Barnes, Turi Barton, Ashley Bennett
Challenge Teams: Kate Ward, Lauren Ward, Grace Bobbermien & Meg Cristfulli
State Age Teams: Alanah Jenkins, Micaela Ward, Milja Spasojevic, Rebecca Fonoti, Rebeka Rounds, Savannah Tkatchenko
The WDNA 14 Years State Age Team with Micaela, Milja, Rebecca, Rebeka & Savannah, won their division.
Well done to all our Rangers girls!
After week 3 WDNA do a review of the teams to try to make the divisions as even as possible. This can result in some teams being moved or some divisions having a bye. The new draw is now on the WDNA website. There is a link on the right hand side of our website if you would like to check your team.
Check out our new Umpiring Assignment system. To see if you or your team is umpiring, hover over the top tab “Umpiring” and click on “Umpiring Assignment”. The dates for the games are down the bottom of the page.
Good luck tomorrow – GO RANGERS!
To recognise the important role umpires have in the game of netball, Wests are hosting an “Umpire Appreciation Day” this Saturday. The aim of this day is to raise the umpire profile at Wests and give our valued umpires some acknowledgement for their dedication, commitment and the courage they show in picking up a whistle and having a go to learn what is often a difficult and daunting task.
We aks all players, coaches and spectators to especially acknowledge umpires on Saturday. You do this by simply thanking your umpire after the game, or by showing appreciation in some other way.
Remember NO UMPIRE – NO GAME!
With the weather cooling down, we will be placing our orders for our warmer gear. We only place one order a year so get in now. If you have already ordered a hoodie they will be here soon.
Please place your orders by visiting the On-line Shop at Uniform Shop by 4th May for:
- Track Pants
- Warm Up Jackets
- Also orders being taken for white caps (not to be worn whilst playing)
