Rangers are on canteen duty this week – we will need three volunteers between 9am-3pm.  Coaches and Managers will be notified on when their team will be required.

Rangers 1 – A Grade – Coached by Lynda Simpson

Team A Grade put in a great effort this weekend against Centenary.  All players got their share of court time and performed really well.  Its great to see any player can be placed in any position and do their job.  A draw was had but next time we will be ready!  Each player followed instructions and tried their hardest in this, not so normal weather conditions.  OMG how hot it was!  Good Job Team and lets keep pushing our way to the top

Rangers 3 – Intermediates 2 – Coached by John Fearon

Another really strong 39-10 win. Good combinations are forming shown by some slick ball movement up the court. All players gave improved performances against tougher opposition than previous. Our mid courters worked really hard & provided plenty of quality ball in the circle. A quiet day for our defenders, they gave nothing away really restricting the Blue Jays attack. Keep it up girls your certainly good enough to win the comp this year.

A big thanks to the under 14s, Cherie & Grace for filling in. Backing up from their own teams very hot & hard fought win.

 Rangers 13 – 10 Years Div 1 – Coached by Mick Mansfield

Our team showed their true colours on Saturday against Kenmore Baptist. They were down by two goals after three quarters and their two-year winning streak was in trouble. Then when they needed to dig deep they scored three goals in five minutes to win 5-4.  At the third break I asked them to just go for it –nothing to lose and they said, ” oh, we can do it!” – they just knew they had it in them. AND they did.

The most pleasing thing for this team was the comments from the other team’s coach to congratulate us on good play and also on great sportsmanship.  A hard fought but fair game!

No training on 25 April 2012 .  See you Saturday 28 April for normal fixtures.

Vicki Wilson Coaching Clinic

Our coaches and senior shooters did not take this week off and were lucky enough to attend a goal shooting  clinic with legendary netballer Vicki Wilson.  It was a fantastic insight into a very important part of our game.  As Vicki said “If you don’t get the ball in the hoop you can’t win the game”.  Stay tuned for the notes from the session.

VICKI WILSON OAM – Regarded as the world’s best shooter of her time, Vicki  represented Australia for 15 years from 1985, the last four as captain. A dead-eye shooter, Vicki played in four World Championships, winning three and skippered Australia to victory at the sport’s Commonwealth Games debut in Kuala Lumpur in 1998. A member of the Sport Australia Hall of Fame, Vicki was also awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM).
