Check the times in the post below – they are different to usual training.
Another big day for our Umpiring Convenor. Thank you to Caroline Stevens who has helped to ensure these girls receive their acknowledgments.
Emily Serow on achieving her National C Badge. Emily has been supporting her club with umpiring for several years and having earned her Gold Award last year has taken on more coaching to move to the next level and join our “C” Club. Thank you to Janine McDonald for her assistance with coaching Emily to this milestone. Great job Em!
Cathy Watson who received her Association Silver Award. Another proud Rangers girl who has quietly gone about her business umpiring each week for the last couple of years and even attending a Carnival to umpire a junior team. Well done Cathy!
The Lost Property Bin at the courts will be sent to Charity after this weekend. So you better check tomorrow if you are missing any items. Any smaller and precious personal items (jewellery/sunglasses) will be behind the Admin desk.
This week’s rule has been selected by our new Nationally Badged Umpire, Nicola Stevens.
The rule looks at throw ins. (page 44 of your rule book) Did you know a player taking the throw in can be offside?
Rule 18.4.2 The player throwing the ball in shall: – (vi) not step behind any offside area whilst still in possession of the ball;
PENALTIES for infringements occurring at the Throw In 1. For (i) to (vi) a Throw In is awarded to the opposing team where the infringement occurred.
So this week, make sure you look where your feet are when taking a throw in near the transverse line or on the edge of the goal circle.
