Apparently the Jenkins girls (Alanah & Sophie), like our seniors, can’t get enough netball in the off season. They joined together with some friends to participate in the Shailer Park Carnival on Sunday. Shailer Park were raising funds to rebuild their Clubhouse following a recent fire.
Their team was called “The Diamantes” – aka pretend Diamonds. They were undefeated until the last game but were pipped at the post and came away Runners Up. Susan Bamford umpired for them so there were more Rangers members flying our flag – reports say that the Rangers esky, umbrella and picnic rugs came in very handy!
Great effort for a good cause on a scorcher of a day!
What do the girls from our A Grade and A Reserve do when Saturday netball is over for the year? They play netball of course! Our girls joined almost 1,800 netballers to celebrate netball, fun and friendship on the Gold Coast this weekend! Wow did it look like they had a ball!
They had plenty of supporters there to cheer them on also – might become a parents weekend away as well. Also managed to catch up with old Rangers girls Erin, Ali and Laura. It wasn’t without incident though – Courtney received an ankle injury but still soldiered on to enjoy the fun – wishing you a speedy recovery Courtney.
Gabby wasn’t old enough to play in the 18+ event but cheered the girls on on Saturday – she even managed to get some tips from previous Australian Captains Liz Ellis and Sharelle McMahon on the beach.
Playing netty with your mates – doesn’t get any better than that! With so much fun had by all – looks like they will be lining up again next year.
Don’t forget to like us on Rangers Facebook More photos of the weekend will be there soon.
